Optoma EzPro 615H and its 150W Projector Lamp.

The Optoma EzPro 615H is a sort of enigma of a projector. It was first manufactured and launched onto the market in the middle of the year 2000 - making the 615H a projector that emerged just at the tail end of a certain era in projector land. An era that was before all the high-tech wizardry of today, the HDTV capability, the wireless compact flash, the psychic projectors and the projectors that look like a little like they belong in a Star Wars movie, even vertical standing projectors. Yes, the Optoma 615H is the last of an ancient and noble breed of projector, perhaps it could be called the Led Zeppelin of projectors.

The projector itself is a 150W unit. The projector lamp inside produces a strong 1250 ANSI Lumens; amazing considering when the 615H was launched. This bright projector lamp creates an outstanding picture that pops with brilliant, sharp color and radiant pixilation. The projector lamp for the 615H is also available right here at myprojectorlamps.com for only $274.99, simply type Optoma into the search bar at the bottom of this page and click on 615H.

Some other interesting specs regarding the Optoma 615H include its native resolution of 1024x768. The unit also has the capability to maximize its resolution at 1280x1024. It is no wonder then that when the projector was released it retailed for around $5000. Presently, I think it will be possible to procure the 615H for under $1000 and perhaps less. If you can find one, try to buy it immediately.

We tested the Optoma 615H projector, while watching The News Hour with Jim Lehrer on our local public television channel KSPS. The projector performed beautifully even though we were viewing it on a public television feed and we definitely could not notice any difference between the Optoma 615H and a flat screen TV we had in house from the same year (2000).

Overall, we give this projector a marvelous recommendation and suggest it for anyone looking to buy a used projector.
