Powerlite 1700 Series; ELPLP38 Projector Lamp
It can be argued that Epson is one of the most well known and respected brand names in the audio visual industry. Year after year they continue to develop a new line of projectors. In 2006, Epson launched the Powerlite 1700 Series. Five years later, consumers are still raving about image quality and the 3LCD technology that has become synonymous with the Epson brand. Interestingly enough, consumers are raving, but the experts are silent. It seems that end users are satisfied with the features on their projectors, but AV professionals dont see anything new about the EMP-1700. So are you impressed? Did you read about anything that is earth shattering or pushing the boundaries of new technology? The EMP-1700 has quite the extensive line-up of bells and whistles to keep the end user satisfied, but the experts are not as easily convinced. The EMP-1700 is a decent projector, but it doesnt push the limits of new or exciting. Epson has many projectors, but this one does not stand out. It will get the job done, and the price is right. If you are a buyer that is considered an early adapter, you have already missed the bus, and this projector is on its way out the door. Epson hopefully will have a projector worthwhile in the coming months.
