The projector also has an absolutely unheard of 15000:1 contrast ratio, which blows contrast ratios of old out of the water and into technological oblivion. The VPL-VW50 also delivers on resolution fantasies of the past couple years by producing a 1920 x 1080 pixels image. This resolution allows the HD picture to be seen and appreciated maximum allowable pixilation for 1080 resolution.

The digital chip technology behind the projector is a headline news story in itself – the VPL-VW50 is only one of 3 projectors in the world to utilize three 0.61 inch SXRD chip to display its stunning image.

The suggested retail price of the projector is USD$6000 and will be available for worldwide distribution in the coming months.
