Dell Smashing Projector Resolution Limits

Dell is rearranging the conceptions of what is possible for projectors priced under $4000 by introducing its latest projector – the Dell MP5100. This projector is the first of its kind to feature a projector lamp that can produce over 3000 ANSI lumens. In fact, the projector lamp generates a blinding 3300 ANSI lumens, which officially makes it the brightest unit of its kind for under $4000.

However, the MP5100 also has a couple other things up its sleeve, including a ridonkulous SVGA+ resolution. The resolution on this predator of a projector is an unbelievable 1400x1050, let me know if you’ve found a flat screen TV with that kind of resolution, and if you have, let me know how much its selling for. The time is upon us when projector technology will start to annihilate traditional modes of television including flat screens; the end could be near for TV boxes of whatever shape.

Not only is the MP5100 blowing people’s mind with its brightness and resolution, but the projector is also holding its own (to say the least) when it comes to contrast ratio. The days when projector and projector lamp manufacturers couldn’t figure out how to upgrade contrast ratios are over. The makers of the MP5100, for example, have developed a scintillating 2500:1 contrast ratio for this unit. A contrast ratio this high will basically abolish any concerns that earlier critics of projectors had (the main drawback to projectors in the past has been their impish contrast ratios, usually around 300:1).

The only drawback that Dell might experience with a superior product such as this, is that they just are not visible enough yet in the projector market. However, producing projectors like the MP5100 that deliver the same performance that they shake down on paper will only strengthen their brand.

So, next time you’re looking for a projector, check out Dell. They might just have something that will keep you strapped to the couch for ages and ages. Now if television could only get a little better.

Until next time – take it easy.
